Other protection-specific construction elements include a thermoformed insert over the tibia and the nylon ankle guard. There are thermoformed inserts on the heel and toe for added protection there also.
Reflecting inserts are included on the sides and at the heels that can be seen through the uppers. Comfort features included in the construction of these boots include zipper closings on the sides, a breathable Gore-Tex® membrane that aids in temperature regulation for the feet, and Velcro closures on top.
Technical solutions include over-the-ankle nylon inserts, TPU gear change guards, and non-slip Vibrant soles that provide for smoother movement.
They are easy to put on and have stretch panels positioned in just the right areas to provide the needed give in movements when walking or bending the foot and ankle.
The overall effect is an understated, attractive styling on a durable, practical ankle boot. Riders who have these boots rate them consistently at 4.7 out of a possible 5 on such specific criteria as style, value for the cost, comfort in wear, protection, special features and durability.
These boots fit well under jeans while also looking stylish when worn over jeans.
Users report no water or cold air intrusions at speeds from ten to 80 miles per hour and temperatures ranging from below freezing to 80 degrees. Reports of comfort when worn for four or more hours are not uncommon.

Reviewers caution that, as the company itself advises, the sizes do tend to run a bit narrow, so consider order a size up for the most comfortable fit.

Verdict
“Great boot!”
I was looking for a general commuter boot with decent looks and protection. The Nighthawk ticked all the right boxes for me and it didn’t disappoint when it arrived.
The styling is perfect – understated and yet looks very sharp. I’m a size 42 and, being originally from Europe myself, all my other shoes are 42. This has to be the narrowest 42 I’ve ever come across.
Overall – very happy with them.

The feedback and testing reinforces our opinion that the Dainese Nighthawk boots are an incredibly comfortable good looking protective ankle boot for touring, ADV or commuting.
They are well designed and because of their quality you can expect them to last a few years. They are a narrow fitting boot so heed the feedback and buy a size up. They are well worth the $250 price tag. I’ll give it 4.5 out of 5.
Hope this Nighthawk review has helped you. If it has please give us a thumbs up on Facebook.
Cheers
