Dainese TRQ Tour Gore-Tex Boots offer specific construction elements that provide for the wearer’s comfort as well as the maximum possible level of foot and ankle protection. The boot’s signature construction base is of a D-Axial jointed thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) base featuring anti-ankle twist back protection. This is made of a Lorica outer of synthetic leather which includes D-Stone inserts designed to alleviate any abrasion and provide for greater comfort. To assure the system is light-weight enough for comfortable wear, it is made from extremely protective Kevlar and carbon fiber.

Hard reinforcement parts are added in the heel cup, nylon toe box, and the steel ankle and heel counters. Also included for protective pieces are a TPU tibia plate and TPU heel counter, with a replacement steel toe slider completing the overall design. Of cowhide leather uppers and D-Stone fabric with elasticized bellows and inserts, these boots are made breathable with the inclusion of a Gore-Tex® membrane for internal temperature regulation. Reflective inserts, a rear zipper, a gear shift guard in the form of a padded insert, Velcro closures and a non-slip sole complete the footgear. A PCT patent is pending on the included micro elastic elasticized inserts, which are innovative and unique.

When used for track and other motorcycle racing, the key concept of the design is that one long continuous line of protection is formed from the shin armor through to the boot when it is fastened inside a racing suit. This makes the whole outfit much more streamlined, offering excellent aerodynamics in a lighter and much more protective combination of suit and boots. This is one of the many reasons the Dainese TRQ Tour Gore-Tex Boots hold the 2011 ZLA Award for Best Boots. Other criteria used in awarding this honor include consideration of performance in use, innovation in design, product value for the cost, and customer satisfaction.

Customers who write reviews are indeed satisfied with these boots, describing them as durable, comfortable, and stylish. They state that the value they receive from the use of the boots offsets their cost over the life of the product. One satisfied customer states, “It is hard not just to wear them as an everyday boot and keep from wearing them out…” due to their style and comfort. Other reviewers note that the boots look awesome when worn with jeans, have an exact fit for the size listed, and are easy to put on and take off due to the rear zipper. Foot protection for motorcyclists has never been so strong while looking so good. …

Verdict

“Excellent touring boot
I needed a pair of boots that were good for commuting (with 8-12h as work shoes) as well as multi-week touring. I strongly prefer beefier ankle support than is common with touring boots, but I don’t require toe-sliders (in particular as passing them off as work shoes). Breathable waterproofness is a welcome bonus.
I was pretty excited when I saw Dainese release the TRQ-Tour boots. It was like they were created just for me.
Previous to these boots, I’ve worn out Sidi Vertigo and B2 boots, and Dainese Torque and Torque D-WP (waterproof) boots. They fit a little tighter than my Torque’s for the same numbered size, but a little looser than my last Sidi Vertigo’s.
I just finished a 2500km tour, after a few weeks of commuting and all-day wear. They fit fantastic, they don’t get too hot, offer great support, and I waded them into the Gulf of Mexico and stayed dry. All-in-all, I love these boots.”

The feedback from various motorcycle gear websites to date reinforces our verdict that Dainese TRQ Tour Gore-Tex Boots are a highly versatile ?? for adventure touring, dual-sport, competition, or commuting well worth the price. I’ll give it 5 out of 5.

Isatphone Pro HandsetIn case you haven’t heard the price of sat phones has dropped considerably. Now you can pick up one of these babies from just $495. The numbers on the handset have large easy to read numbers which make it easier for motorcyclists to place sat phone calls without removing your gloves. At that price its madness to not have one when you set off on any tour or adventure ride.
